I have a friend who left the rat race behind and relocated to Shetland and we often talk on the phone about the weather! After a heavy snow fall he sent me a few photos and this study shows a frozen road after the snow with strong winter sunlight casting shadows.
Using heavy textured paint applied with a palette knife the mood of this place is sculpted conveying the drama of such a wild landscape.
In my 3 years as a full time professional artist this is by far my favourite piece and marks a real turning point in my art journey.
Certificated on the reverse as an authentic original oil painting.
