Clumber Park National Trust Sketching Workshops

The Parsonage at Clumber Park.
My 24 day residency in The Old Parsonage at Clumber Park was a great experience, meeting lots of people, exhibiting my work and making a few sales. The highlight were the 3 sketching workshops I led out in the park.
I had some lovely feedback from workshop attendees and in conjunction with the Clumber Team have decided to run another 6 workshops, one per month through to November. Each workshop will focus on a different landscape in the park so there is the possibility to book on more than one.
Once again I will provide all the materials and guide you through my layered approach to mixed media sketching. The sessions are fun, relaxed and non judgmental, the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the process.

Painting Plein air as much as possible I try and bring an immediacy and freshness to my work with gestural mark making and a bold use of colour.

Hello!
It’s been a busy few weeks, I had the privilage of taking part in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2026 as a wildcard contestant in Keswick. It was an amazing day, very hot but great to painting along with the other artists and seeing at close hand how the program is made. You will be able to see it on the telly in January.
I continue to run workshops and demos for art groups with more to come throughout the year. If your group wants to book a workshop get in touch!
My next art class will start on Thursday 4th September at 10am, a daytime slot so if you fancy boosting your art practice drop me a line.
The next big event is Art at the Farm in Tickhill on 9th & 10th August, a mini art festival so stay tuned for more info.
My mixed media sketching workshops continue monthly at Clumber Park. These are a lovely 3 hour session out in the park with me coaching you through a layered approach to sketching using pen, watercolour and acrylic. Fun, relaxed sessions.
