Froggart Edge

£150.00

In the Dark Peak the glacial bowl created in the last ice age defines the landscape, shaping the gritstone into a series of amazing ‘Edges’ - Bamford, Stannage, Froggart, Curber to name a few making a dramatic place to walk and climb. I spend hours walking the Edges and it has become a favourite place to paint.

This little study was painted sat on the rocks of Froggart Edge, feet dangling over the edge with the valley way below.

Using a palette knife the thick application of paint helps to suggest the rugged nature of the rock capturing the atmosphere of this place.

Framed in a handmade white wooden frame using ‘St Ives’ moulding which helps to showcase this piece.

Froggart Edge.

Oil on Board. 15cm x 15cm
