My love affair with the Peak District continues, particularly the ‘Edges’.
This is my first bigger piece using a palette knife, trying to keep the texture & colour of the smaller studies. It is looking across Curbar Edge with the ‘Pinnacle’ rock tower front and centre. The curve of the Edge takes you through the picture to the distant hills. The contrast of the purple heather and soft tones of the grass works well. Certainly a dramatic piece that would have impact in any room.
It is painted on a deep box canvas and would look good unframed or in a classic tray frame which could be arranged.
