We were in the Lakes in May 2024 to take part in Keswick Mountain Festival and we camped at Burns Farm near Threlkeld. The view from the tent was incredible - looking over to the imposing shape of Blencathra and Sharp Edge. It is a famous mountain that guards the entrance to the Western Lakes before the road drops down into Keswick.
This painting was produced back home in the studio from a plein air sketch I did very early one morning as the sun burnt off the early mist. An incredible view.
Painted in oils on Board it is presented in a handmade wooden frame with a double slip that adds drama to the piece.
